No wheels? No Problem!

Will life at Disney suck without a car?

In short Yes!

Ok its not all that bad. Here are a few tricks I learned in my time there that definitely made it more bearable.

  1. When choosing roommates, make sure that at least one of you has a car
It just makes life so much easier when you first arrive. That first grocery shopping trip you take will be so much better with a car rather than taking the bus. Also, if you ever want to make a trip to the beach you will need a car for that. And if you are one who likes to stay until the parks close, you will get home much faster and more comfortably by car then DCP bus. That's the time when all your fellow cast mates are getting off work tired, with hurting feet and the buses are completely packed. You don't want to deal with that. But all that being said… make sure you at least offer to help with gas!!! Especially if you’re the one asking to be driven places they weren't  planning on going.

  1. Keep several bus schedules in easy to access palaces
My roommates and I kept one pinned up on your living room cork board. I also usually had one in my purse. It makes it easier to plan out your day the better you learn the bus routes. In terms of getting home from another apartment complex, there are many routes you can take just realize that some will get you there faster then others. There is actually an app for the bus system but I can't tell you much about it because it was not available for my windows phone.

  1. Utilize Disney resort buses
It sucks to miss the bus home from the parks. You typically have to wait another hour for a bus and when your ready to go your ready to go. If you plan it right, you can utilize the park buses to resorts to catch a bus home. For instance, one time my friends and I missed the bus at the contemporary resort. We pulled out our bus schedules and saw that there would be a bus at the Art of Animation Resort in 30minutes. We hopped on the AoA bus from Magic Kingdom and made it in time to catch a DCP bus home.  I would say the best place to do this at is Downtown Disney. This can be tricky and risky but if you time it just right it can work to your advantage. Time it wrong, it could actually take longer to get home.

  1. There are city buses that can take you many different places for a low cost.
If you live anywhere besides Vista Way these buses are relatively close to you. There are stops right across the street from sprouts. It would take you to the other mall, SeaWorld, the bank among other places. They are nice on the inside and a  quick way to get around.
