The first few days can be stressful and and tedious for everyone! Get that in your head now. Your problems are not unique and are not more important than anybody else's, SO SAVE IT!(unless they really are...).
Here is a list of things to do if you really want to piss everybody off (what not to do) followed by a list of things to do if you want everyone (including the cast) to like you.
Seriously Dont...
1-Complain about long lines. We are all standing in them too and trust me, there are more.
2-Complain about having days off. Go to the parks if you have your pass, hang out, meet people, go shopping SLEEP, WORKOUT! (You will thank me later).
3-Say that you got screwed after not getting to go to casting or traditions when you want cause guess what? NO BODY CARES!!
4-Show up late to the bus. It waits for no one. Greyhound buses for casting leave exactly on time and regular buses stop and go.
5-Be upset when something can't be fixed right away. Everybody is working as hard as they can so wait your turn
6-Forget your license or state Id during the check-in process. What sense does that make? Now you have to come back later in the day to finish your stuff.
7-Forget any important paperwork. They tell you to have certain things, just have them or don't show up cause they are going to send you back to your apartment to get them anyways.
8-Forget to set your alarm
9-Be loud while your roommates are trying to sleep
(I say these all in love because i actually did half of them. Ok maybe a little less than half... like 2 but still)
Please Do's
1-Tip your taxi driver who takes you to check-in.
2-Eat breakfast on check-in day.
3-Bring all the documents they ask you to bring. Seriously just bring everything. If you have a passport, birth certificate and social security card, just bring them all. It does not hurt to be extra prepared.
4-Smile!
5-Respond when cast members prompt you to respond. Just join in when they ask you to be excited at 8am after a long day of standing in lines.
6-Bring a lot of money so you can grocery shop and go out to eat with your new housemates. Most of my roommates spent at least $100 on that first shopping trip
7-Bring your photo Id (drivers license or state ID) with you at all times.
8-Once you get your housing ID, bring that with you at all times. You need it to get into the apartment complexes,to get on the bus and to swipe in at work.
9-Clean your apartment before you get settled. You can't always trust how good the former tenants cleaned it or how long its been since someone lived in there. Just be safe and feel cleaner and do it yourself.
10-Coordinate with you housemates before you go grocery shopping. This helps to avoid buying several of the same items you are all sharing like mustard, salt and pepper, paper towels and pasta sauce. Not that i have any experience with that...
I'm sure I am forgetting some things so I can pretty much guarantee there will be a part two. But until then
Good reference at the end! Keep up the good posts!! I'm glad you are having fun so far!
